A Bolt Length Upgrade refers to either the upgrade of bolts from one size to another or the upgrade of bolts from one type to another. For example, our sets are all sized with bolts that accommodate ¾” plywood.

If you are not going into ¾” plywood but are, for example, going into 2”x4”s or 2”x6”s like on a child’s playset, you will need longer bolts than typically come with the handhold set and will want to request a bolt length upgrade.
On certain sets like the Roof Sets, the handholds come with Hex Head bolts where you will need a 9mm socket wrench to tighten them.
If you’d rather use Cap Screw bolts that use a 5/16” allen key to tighten, you will also need to order a bolt upgrade but rather than length, it will be for bolt type. The cost is the same, but you will need to specify that you need a bolt type upgrade. This is only an issue for a few sets.
